Red

That's what I saw when I went to the ladies room earlier. I didn't bleed at all before my D&C last Friday...and I had minimal spotting Friday and Saturday...and nothing since...until today. Bright red...enough to need a pad. I called my dr and left a message with the nurse. I'm waiting to hear back as to whether this is "normal" or not.

Anyone who has had a D&C with no bleeding before...did you bleed after??

Hi -I have read your blog on and off for a few years. I also had a baby via IVF at the same time you had Lexi. Prior to that pregnancy I had a pregnancy that was not viable (no heartbeat found) and a D&C. I did not bleed much at all at first and was suprised by a sudden flow of blood a few days later. My doctor explianed that after the D&C your remaining HCG level falls and when it gets close to zero, your body "realizes" you are no longer pregnant and naturally releases any remaining tissue in the uterus, causing the bleeding.

im so sorry for your losses. i know how hard it is and i am sad for you and your family.

i have only had one D&C and i bled for 3 weeks after. im sure its normal for your body to be reacting differently to the procedure than it did before. you know this IF life does nothing if it doesn't keep us on our toes.

i was just reading your timeline and it's funny, my husband and i started TTC a year before our wedding too.

I bled for quite some time after both of my D&Cs. I want to say around two weeks or so. Bright red blood for 2-3 days then sort of an annoying slow discharge.

You ~did~ lose a life. And it's okay to grieve that loss. Grieve it for as long as you need to. Don't be hard on yourself - you didn't wish that baby away. It is hard not to blame ourselves (I hated and despised my body for failing me) but, sadly, it is just one of those shitty things life hands you.

Sending you much love . . .
