2nd beta

Went in for my second beta yesterday morning....HCG went to 1777. That's over a course of 4 days...so I didn't figure out the doubling time. The worrying thing is that my pr0gesterone dropped to 18.8. The nurse said they weren't worried...but I am. I always thought the pr0gesterone should be over 20. Plus, I've had little cramps over the last few days...nothing huge, just little ones. Still I'm concerned. I go for another beta tomorrow. I know I won't be relaxed until I see that little flutter on the u/s screen...

Cramps are good, Amy. It means your baby is growing and snuggling in. And your progesterone is fine too. Mine with David hovered around 20 the first few weeks.. . if they are not concerned neither should you. xo

*shrugs* I do not know first hand but I have heard it said MANY times that cramping is totally normal at this point. And if they aren't worried about your progesterone, then you shouldn't be either! I hope you can relax and enjoy once you see the flutter ... certainly understandable :)

That's great about the beta!!!! I assume you're on some form of progesterone supplements????
Try not to worry about that stuff... I've read bloggers who had progesterone levels of 6 and the baby was just fine.
The cramps are completely and utterly normal, I promise. I had them a lot the first several weeks and still on and off even now at 14w. I am thinking of you and hoping for the best!!
*hugs*

Cramps could be a good thing. That is just what my daughter in law did...she cramped so she thought either she wasn't pregnant, or she was loosing it. She had her 3rd Beta yesterday and the cramping is now either gone or not much because she no longer talks about it. She goes in for her ultrasound in 2 hours!
Can't wait to hear about your ultrasound.

Let's see, your first beta was 137, two days doubling on that should have been 274, and then two more days doubling should have been 548, so you did even better than that! (Someone should check my math and my logic, but that seems right to me.) So, go you!

Oh, and my progesterone was 18.0.

I think sometimes we can be too educated. Try to breath and rely on the good news! If you are on endometrin, my RE says your actual progesterone can not be measured accurately as it is not directly absorbed in the blood stream.

I will be waiting with you for your ultrasound.

I know you'll probably worry no matter what we say, but the cramping is completely normal. I felt all kinds of weird things from the start. Also, progesterone naturally fluctuates in your system. They could have tested you an hour later and gotten a completely different number. If they aren't concerned, you can probably relax a little. I know, easier said than done!
