My response...

to my cousin's little pg announcement email was simply to tell her Congratulations and I hope she understands how hard it is for me to hear, but that I am happy for her and her DH. That's about all I could muster. Then she comes back and says that her EDD is August 4, 2008. So I go online to a pg calaculator and find that she would have had a conception date of November 12th! Someone explain to me, how she could know already? I don't get it. I seriously think she's lying about the EDD. Why I don't know. But the best part is, I don't even know why I give a damn! Why do I care? It's not like it has any bearing on my daily life...but that's not true. It does. She lives 5 doors down...I see her quite often.

This sucks!

Oh, and my DH wants me to go "talk" to someone...considering how hard I've taken "this news". Whatever...who knows, it may do me some good.

Perhaps she hasn't been to the doctor yet, and doesn't realize you don't count from the day your MP was DUE, but from the date of the LMP? Just a suggestion...

Unless she just peed on a stick and felt it necessary to announce it early....

If "talking" to someone would help you in any way, Go for it. There is no harm in doing what can help you. If YOU do not think it will help, then just keep open lines of communication going between you and DH. Or suggest DH go with you.. It's a joint effort.

I am sorry that the news has erupted so many hard times/feelings for you

My husband thinks I need counseling every other week...sometimes I think he is right :)

Wishing you all the best!

I am sorry this has been so hard for you. If YOU feel like you need to talk to someone then you should, but I don't think that your reaction is unwarranted given what you have been through.

I can completely agree about thinking this is a sucky situation. My SIL just found she was pg by POAS @ beginning of Nov and called everyone too. She due on my DH's bday....talk about sucky. so yea I hear ya and feel for you. If you feel like you need to talk to a counselor by all means do it, or you can just vent to others who understand like I do.

Therapy has been incredibly helpful for me. But make sure you find someone with experience with infertility. As we know, those who don't understand really don't understand -- even therapists.
